+ Can Ernst Furniture Service repair my furniture on site?
In most cases, repairs can be completed on site. However, if the repairs are extensive the damaged furniture will require repairs in our shop.
+ What types of damages can be repaired in my home?
Ernst Furniture Service repairs damage on all types and styles of wood furniture, surfaces, and cabinets. In many cases, the items can be repaired rather than replaced.
+ How long will the repair take? Will I be without my furniture if it is brought to your shop for repair?
Ernst Furniture Service attempts to do many repairs while in the home so that you are not without your furniture. Many times the repairs can be done in the home in just a few hours. There are times when parts need to be ordered and a return trip is necessary to complete the repairs.
+ I am having issues with the drawers on my furniture are not opening properly. Can you help with this?
The drawer glides are most likely broken or loose. We will need to open the drawer and replace or repair the glide.
+ We just moved into the area and our dining room table was scratched. Is this something that is able to be repaired or will we need to replace the table?
The majority of the time the scratches can be touched up. If the scratches are significant the table will need to go to a company that can strip and refinish the table.
+ Can you repair chipped, gouged, or crushed corners on tables?
Yes. We use a product that forms and adheres to the table to shape into missing piece or fills in the gouged area. The area is then stained to match.
+ Can you repair broken or wobbly chairs or tables?
Absolutely! These are items that are most often in need of repair. The longer furniture are used while broken or wobbly, the more damage occurs and the more extensive the repairs.
+ I have a reclining piece of furniture. The footrest will not open. Can this be repaired?
This is difficult to diagnose without looking at the furniture. The mechanism could be bent or broken. There could also be a spring broken on the mechanism. If the piece is electric there could also be an issue with power not getting to the motor.
+ My furniture sits low or soft and no longer firm. What could be wrong with my furniture?
The cushion cores may need to be replaced, springs could be broken, or the frame could be broken.
+ Will you bill the moving or insurance company for repairs that need to be completed?
As long as the claim is approved through your moving or insurance we will invoice the company upon approval.
